Non-Congregate - SFSP/SSO Sponsor Eligibility

The SFSP/SSO Non-Congregate Meal Service Option is intended for those sponsors who are:

  • Returning 2024 SFSP Sponsors* or for SSO, Local Education Agencies (LEAs) who operate NSLP and are in good standing.   
    • *Exceptions: Sponsors in Good Standing with a gap in service and/or operate another OSPI CN program

A Sponsor who is in good standing with CNS:

  • Meets Program responsibilities
  • Is current with financial obligations
  • Fully implemented all Corrective Action within the required timeframe 
  • Has not been found seriously deficient in the past two years (at the time of the application)
  • Has never been terminated from the Summer Meals Programs

Sponsors for which summer 2025 will be their first year of participation with an OSPI CN program will only be approved for SFSP/SSO congregate meal service.


For SFSP sponsors with a gap in service: 

  • Complete a new sponsor questionnaire including WINS authorization of users, responsible principal documentation, and if applicable an update permanent agreement prior to completing an SFSP application.
  • Community sponsors will have to be approved for VCA which will add at least an additional month to the application process.
    • VCA Exemptions: Current NSLP and CACFP sponsors who are in good standing.
